A Fulfilling Career with Pigott & Co

Are you wanting to have more of a say in how you practice law than you have in a big firm?  Would you like to focus on serving your clients rather than meeting your billing targets? Are you interested in practicing law in a hands-on way where you make a real difference in the community?  Then Pigott & Co law firm in Nelson, British Columbia may be the place for you.

Since its formation in Nelson in 2009, Pigott & Co has established a reputation for high quality service to our clients and our community.  We focus our practice in the areas of real estate development, conveyancing, corporate commercial, and wills and estates. One of the joys of practice in Nelson is that we serve the whole community.  That means we help our clients with everything from drafting wills to advising start-ups on corporate finance issues. We structure real estate developments and negotiate and draft the sale of cutting edge intellectual property for our clients and we do everything in between. We thrive on meeting the needs of our clients whatever they may be.

Nelson is a city that will surprise you both with the vibrancy of its cultural sector and the amazing variety of its businesses and business people.   Its beauty and charm attract tourists as well as many entrepreneurs and investors in a wide variety of sectors. Many people choose to live here because Nelson is simply a great place to live and work.  You can find anything that interests you: gourmet dining and local artisan food, a vibrant arts scene and of course, a stunning natural landscape. Skiing, biking, hiking and countless other outdoor activities are literally at your doorstep.

One of the perks of a boutique practice in a smaller community is that we have a flexible and friendly office environment.  Our office is small enough that we all work closely as a team.

We are seeking an associate to join our team and grow with the firm as we continue to meet the needs of the local legal market.

Our ideal candidate is a qualified lawyer with 1-5 years experience with an interest in solicitor work.  For candidates interested but not experienced in solicitor work, training will be provided. More important than specific legal background is a genuine interest in serving clients to the best of your abilities. In a smaller community, client contact is more personal and we make a genuine effort to serve our clients as well as we can, and we draw great satisfaction from this.

Your salary and compensation will be commensurate with experience.

Please apply by e-mailing your CV and cover letter to our office administrator at: Applications will be kept in strict confidence and references will only be contacted with your prior approval. Only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.

Visit our website at for more information about us.

The application deadline is July 15, 2019.
